User Mapping


In SplashBI, the administrator has to make the connection from Oracle EBS to SplashBI for each user to be linked to a user group within the tool.  Clicking on the Oracle EBS suite will navigate the user the User Mapping tab.



If user mappings are available, all mappings are listed in table.


Create Mapping 

Click the icon which will launch a create mapping pop up.



  1. To connect a SplashBI user with their Oracle EBS user name, click the drop down arrow on the SplashBI Employee Name to display the list of available employee names.
  2. Once the SplashBI Employee Name has been selected, the corresponding user name for SplashBI will automatically be populated in the field.
  3. Select the EBS Connection Name from the connections drop-down, it displays the EBS user name filed.
  4. Click the Search icon of EBS user name field to display a search pop up, which displays the available EBS Users of selected connection.
  5. Select the Authentication Method.
    • When the Authentication Method is selected as EBS, the SplashBI user will be able to login with mapped EBS user credentials only. 
    • When the Authentication Method is selected as NATIVE, the SplashBI user will be able to login with own credentials only.
    • When the Authentication Method is selected as Active Directory, the SplashBI user will be able to login with Active Directory credentials only.

6.   After all fields have been entered, click Save button for new created mapping.


Edit Mapping  

  • Administrators can edit any created mapping by clicking icon.
  • A mapping pop-up is displayed. Modify the details and click Save button to apply the changes.
  • Click Cancel button to undo the changes.



Import Users


Importing users allows the administrator the ability to import EBS users to the SplashBI application. This method is used if administrators need to create more than one employee name mapping rather than one at a time.



  1. Click Import EBS Users icon to import users and the following pop up is displayed as shown below.



  1. Select the connection from the Connections Name drop-down. The list of EBS users of selected connection are listed in the Available EBS Users area.


  1. Select Available EBS Users to import by checking the box next to the name.


  1. Click the move right icon (which looks similar to the greater than sign) where selected EBS Available Users are moved to Selected EBS Users area. Whenever users are moved, EBS user names will be automatically created.


    • When the Authentication Method is selected as EBS, the SplashBI user will be able to login with mapped EBS user credentials only. 
    • When the Authentication Method is selected as NATIVE, the SplashBI user will be able to login with own credentials only.
    • When the Authentication Method is selected as Active Directory, the SplashBI user will be able to login with Active Directory credentials only.

4.  Click Save button to apply the creation and click Cancel button to exit the creation and not save. The administrator will receive a success message from a pop up window. Click OK to close pop up window.


User Creates Password Using Link Received in Email:

In user create page when we select authentication method is “Native” added new option to set password for user using activate code through email.

When click on radio button “User Creates Password Using Link Received in Email” and click on “Send Email” check-box to receive password activation link, this activation link will expire in 24 hours if not used.

Auto Generate Password: Using this option we can auto generate password, generated password will to user’s email. 


Let Me Create Password: Using this option we create our own password.


Send Email: Using this option we can receive the generated password (or) password link URL to set new password




Delete Mapping  


Administrators can delete the mapping of users from Oracle EBS two ways:


Mass Delete


SplashBI allows the administrator to delete more than one EBS mappings at the same time.


  1. Choose users to delete by checking the box next to the SplashBI employee name or select the check box present at the top of the table header to select all the rows at one click.
  2. Created mapping is deleted by clicking Delete icon of any mapping. Once the delete icon is clicked the employee mapping disappears from the list of created employee name mappings.


Single Delete


Administrators can delete one employee mapping at a time by clicking the delete icon.



  1. Choose the SplashBI employee name by checking the box next to the name.
  2. Click the Delete icon to remove the EBS mapping from the list of created mappings.Once delete is clicked the employee record is removed.



Other Options



  1. CLick the Export icon to export the data in the form of ZIP file, it contains information about user mappings, user groups and user group details.
  2. Click this to add responsibilities to a particular user. The following pop up will be displayed with a list of available responsibilities for that connection and list of selected responsibilities for that user.



  1. Select the responsibilities in Available Responsibilities  and click > to add the responsibilities to Selected Responsibilities. Click Save. 

SplashBI user Name: 

While importing users from oracle EBS, we have an option to choose SplashBI user Name in different format like UserName, Email-Id. If we select Email-Id option, email-Id will reflect user name in SplashBI .


If we select “EBS user name” tenant sub-domain value will display, user Name in SplashBI will be combination of user Name and sub domain.


Ex:-  ABOASE@SplashBI.com is new user name
